Officials from Carroll and Marshalltown made their pitch last week to the Iowa High School Athletic Association to remain as hosts for the state baseball tournament. The city of Cedar Rapids had already made a proposal to take over the host duties. IHSAA spokesman Bud Legg says a decision will likely come in the spring. He says a decision on where to hold the 2005 tournaments will likely come at the board in control’s March meeting. Legg says all three presentations had a lot to offer.Legg says it will be a tough choice, and he says it’s a pleasant problem to have. In the last nine years, Carroll has hosted Class 1A and 3A baseball tournaments, with Marshalltown hosting the 2A and 4A.
