A high-speed chase cut through four central Iowa counties last (Tuesday) night before the suspect was caught. Webster County Sheriff’s deputies tried to serve a narcotics search warrant on Harry Carvalho at his home in Fort Dodge. He apparently drove up and saw the law officers at his door and sped away. Deputies gave chase along with Fort Dodge police. The suspect refused to stop, racing into Boone and Dallas counties at speeds up to one-hundred miles an hour, before Carvalho was finally corralled in Polk County near Grimes, just northwest of Des Moines. Besides the earlier probation violations and a contempt of court warrant, he now faces charges of eluding law enforcement, driving while barred and reckless driving.
