More than 500 boys and girls basketball players from eighth grade through seniors in high schools are at Drake University for the Future Stars Spring Shootout. Future Stars chairman Damon Vogt says the two days of competition is designed to give the players exposure to college coaches.Vogt says division one recruiting gets most of the publicity but colleges at all levels are looking for players. Vogt says each player who takes part is evaluated by a staff member. He says participants are now able to get on-line and get their evaluation. Vogt says there are a number of different levels of competition. Competition runs through Saturday afternoon.
