There are more comings and goings in the Iowa National Guard. The Guard is putting two more large units on alert for possible federal active duty. The 224th Engineer Battalion out of Fairfield, Burlington, Ottumwa, Mount Pleasant and Keokuk and the 21-68th Transportation Company, with units in Sheldon and Cedar Rapids. Combined, the units have 660 citizen-soldiers who may be called to serve up to two years as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Meanwhile, the 186th Military Police company is returning to Iowa today after 14 months in the Persian Gulf. A welcome home ceremony is planned at 5 P.M. at Camp Dodge for the returning 130 members.
