State bragging rights are on the line again as the University of Northern Iowa takes on Iowa in college baseball tonight. This evening’s game will be played at a neutral site in Cedar Rapids at Veteran’s Stadium after last night’s game was rained out. UNI coach Rick Heller thinks it should be a fun atmosphere for college baseball. He says it gives them both a chance to promote the program, and makes it more fun. These two teams met last week in Iowa City and UNI rallied with 4-runs in the top of the 8th inning to defeat the Hawkeyes 8-6. The Panthers have won eight of the last twelve meetings against Iowa and Heller feels the Hawks may be starting to feel the pressure of losing to the Panthers. Heller says Iowa’s coach said it was a big game for UNI, but Heller says it’s more of a big game for Iowa, as he says UNI has had a lot of success in the last two years. He says it’s more a case of Iowa trying to catch them.
