An Iowa politician who’s risen to a prominent position in Congress is not only raising money for his own reelection, but he’s raising money for other candidates. Congressman Jim Nussle, chairman of the House Budget Committee, has raised over a million dollars in the past year and a half for his reelection campaign. But Nussle has also formed his own political action committee, and collected over 104-thousand dollars for that PAC. One of the donations came from Nussle’s predecessor — former Congressman Tom Tauke. Tauke, who is now an executive for Verizon, wrote Nussle a one-thousand dollar check. According to federal campaign disclosure reports, Nussle has handed out just one check from his new PAC. He gave fellow Iowa Congressman Tom Latham a thousand bucks for Latham’s reelection campaign.
