Republicans have often attacked democrat Senator Tom Harkin for raising a majority of his campaign cash from out-of-state, but a review of republican Senator Charles Grassley’s fundraising reports shows he’s getting a chunk of change from out-of-state donors. The Center for Responsive Politics has posted Federal Election Commission reports on the Internet, and the data shows 67 percent of Grassley’s donations in the past year came from out-of-staters. A total of one-and-a-half million comes from donors who do not live in Iowa. Grassley’s campaign staff says the senator has just started sending fundraising letters to Iowans, so donations from Iowans should grow. In the past six years, Grassley has raised six-point-two million dollars for his re-election campaign. About half that money came from individuals. Most of the rest came from political action committees or PACs.
