Residents of one central Iowa county are going on a historical scavenger hunt this month. Pete Malmberg of the Dallas County Conservation Department talks about the tour. He says there are some really unique historic structures and monuments in Perry, Van Meter has Bob Feller’s Museum and some history about Feller. There’s Ortonville, which is off Highway 6, there’s a lot of history down there about the circus. There’s just some beautiful drives along the way too, and some of our really nice parks like hanging rock. A list of questions and directions to points of interest are available from the Conservation Department during may, which is Dallas County Scenic History Month. Chris Johnson, the first curator back in 1992, came up with the idea for people who like to do road trips. The Dallas County Scenic History drive is designed to last about an hour.
