Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry spoke with Radio Iowa this morning, and was tight-lipped about Governor Tom Vilsack’s chance of being picked as his running mate. Kerry says he’s not going to discuss the process of selecting a runningmate as he’s “been determined to try to keep it personal and private.” Kerry did say Vilsack and his wife, Christie, “have become good friends” and have been very helpful in the course of the campaign. Mrs. Vilsack endorsed Kerry a few days before the Iowa Caucuses. The Governor endorsed Kerry in early February. During a news conference in Boston today, Governor Vilsack told reporters he’s flattered to be asked questions about being Kerry’s runningmate, but Vilsack said “anything to do with the vice presidential selection should probably come from the Kerry campaign.”
