A group of Fort Dodge-area investors have purchased land for a new ethanol plant. Bruce Jamerson, president and C-F-O of VeraSun Energy, spoke at a news conference today in Fort Dodge.VeraSun purchased 252 acres of land in Webster County, where they plan to build an ethanol plant that would produce about 110 million gallons of ethanol each year.Jamerson says construction will start soon, and they hope to be up and running by January, 2006. Jamerson says ethanol won’t be the only product from the plant. Jamerson says they’ll be making about 350-thousand tons of high-protein animal feed each year. He estimates the plant will buy about 30 million bushels of corn each year.
