Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry is jokingly defending both himself and President Bush after three Davenport banks were robbed Wednesday while the two men were campaigning in downtown Davenport. “Ladies and gentleman, all I can say is President Bush and I have airtight alibis,” Kerry said during an appearance in St. Louis on Thursday afternoon. Police have one suspect in custody for one of the Davenport bank robberies. Descriptions of the suspects in the other two robberies do not match the man in custody, and Davenport cops say there’s apparently no connection between the three crimes — other than the fact the heists happened while Kerry and Bush were in Davenport.
