Officials have now released the name of the man slain yesterday afternoon in Fort Dodge, and it’s the ex-husband of the woman who is now married to the Webster County Medical Examiner. The shooting happened at the Medical Examiner’s home, and the dead man is Paul Benton of Fort Dodge, the ex-husband of Dr. Daniel Cole’s wife. Cops say when they arrived at the doctor’s house, Benton had been shot, and Dr. Cole had facial injuries. Benton was taken to a Fort Dodge hospital, where he was pronounced dead due to a single gunshot wound.
