Considered by many as Iowa’s most diverse small town, Postville is holding its seventh annual festival tomorrow (Sunday) to show off its wide-ranging roots. Nina Taylor is organizing the “Taste of Postville” which she says focuses on food and fun. The event was started as a way to recognize the mixed population which is comprised of people from 30 different countries who’ve moved to Postville in the past 15 years. Taylor says as the name implies, Taste of Postville zeroes in on all sorts of delectable food samples from locations spanning the globe. The selection includes: Middle Eastern, Italian, American, Thai, kosher and nonkosher, food from the Philippines and many more. Taylor says there’ll be two stages for the entertainment which is also from around the world — including Jewish, Spanish, Peruvian and Turkish. Taylor says she enjoys living in the welcoming, unusual community. The festival in Postville runs from 10:30 A.M. to 4 P.M. tomorrow (Sunday). For more information, surf to “tasteofpostville.com”.
