The next month will determine the championship hopes of the Drake football team as the Bulldogs entertain the University of San Diego in Pioneer Football League North division opener. Drake is 3-2 and coach Rob Ash feels the Bulldogs have momentum as they open the division race with two wins in a row. He says the team feels confident and eager to start the conference season.Ash says during the first half of the season the running game has dramatically improved, and that was the big question at the start of the year with two freshmen runningbacks.Former Michigan and N-F-L quarterback Jim Harbaugh is in his first season as the head coach at San Diego and Ash says this game will be a challenge for the defense. He says they have probably the best runningback in the league and a couple of outstanding recievers and a transfer quarterback from B-Y-U.San Diego is 2-3.
