Most football teams strive for balance on offense and so far this season Drake has achieved that. To this point the Bulldogs have averaged 198 yards of rushing and 193 yards of passing and that has been a key as the Bulldogs host Valparaiso in a Pioneer league matchup on Saturday.Drake coach Rob Ash says they’ve always prided themselves on making the other team defend the run and pass anywhere on the fied. He says that concept has been good to them and he’s happy with where they are right now. Valparaiso has a large number of starters back from last years PFL title team but the Crusaders are still in search of their first league win. He says Valpo is about two players away from a championship run, and says they miss quarterback David Mackey. With a victorty the Bulldogs would set up showdown with Dayton for the North Division title and Ash is not concerned about a letdown.
