In high school football action tonight in class 2A, fourth ranked West Burlington Notre Dame visits top rated Sigourney-Keota in a district seven showdown between a pair of unbeatens. West Burlington coach Bill Nelson says in his district and others, these last couple of weeks determine who goes to the playoffs. He says his team has to win both games, so it’s like playoff football already.Nelson says the defense has led the way but will get a severe test by Sigourney-Keota. He says they have a great system with great kids that fit in well. He says the kids grow up and know how to run the single wing plays, and he says they now have a good class of athletes coming through.In class 1A, fourth rated West Marshall visits East Marshall and with a victory would clinch the title in district seven. West Marshall coach Ken Winkler says it’ll be a good ballgame and it’s a good rivalry. He says East Marshall has had some injuries, but has gotten back and will play hard. He says defense has been a strength. He says they had a few moments where they didn’t play well, but overall they’ve played well.
