Iowa State senior linebacker Brandon Brown has been named the Big-12 Conference defensive player of the week. Brown was a key in the Cyclones 26-25 win at Baylor which snapped a 13-game conference losing skid. I-S-U coach Dan McCarney says in a hard fought tough game, Brown’s presence made a difference as he forced two fumbles, recovered one and had a sack. Brown had a team high 13-tackles as the Cyclones held Baylor to just 140 yards of rushing. He says Brown was very deserving of the honor and it was a homecoming for him as he’s from Houston. The Cyclones are at home this week to play Kansas.
