President Bush campaigned at a rally in Dubuque last night, praising Democratic presidents of the past like Franklin Roosevelt and Harry Truman. The republican says his democratic rival, John Kerry, is totally at odds with those strong leaders of the Democratic party. “My opponent has no plan, no vision, just a long list of complaints,” Bush says. The President also ridiculed the path Kerry has suggested he would pursue in Iraq. “A Monday morning quarterback has never led any team to victory,” Bush says. Bush, though, is refocusing his effort to try to lure what the President calls “discerning” democrats and independents to vote for him rather than Kerry. “I’d be honored to have your support and I’m asking for your vote,” Bush says. Kerry will campaign in Sioux City this morning and Cedar Rapids this evening. Jon Bon Jovi will perform at that Cedar Rapids rally.
