Workers at a northeast Iowa furniture plant have approved a new contract. Flexsteel Industries Dubuque Plant and the United Local Steel Workers of America Local 1861 came to an agreement on a new labor contract. A substantial number of union members voted for the contract. Negotiations were centered around more jobs being brought back to the Dubuque plant. Union spokesman Merle Duehr (DOO’-er) Junior says they would like to see 100 new jobs created in the next six months. Flexsteel spokesman Tom Baldwin says with economic conditions, a timeline is uncertain. The new contract expires in November of 2008.
