The Iowa Hawkeyes have climbed to 12th in the latest A-P college football poll after claiming a 30-7 win over Wisconsin. The Hawkeyes won their final seven games after starting the season two-and-two. Hawkeye coach Kirk Ferentz says the kicked it in gear and the seniors really accepted the leadership role they needed. He says there’s no style points in football and the only thing that matters is that they’re 7-1 in the conference. It is the second time in three years Iowa has won a share of the Big Ten crown and they will play in their third straight January bowl game when they travel to Orlando, Florida for the Capitol One Bowl on New Years Day. Ferentz says the team gets to enjoy the win until their next meeting. He says it’s a special group of guys and a great group of coaches.
