Two members of Iowa State University’s VEISHEA Task Force will not sign off on its final report. The 25 members of the task force range from an associate dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and ISU’s new Dean of Agriculture to student body leaders, professors and other staff. Though they’ve drafted a final report, student Drew Miller says he won’t sign it, arguing that while the group announced it reached concensus on topics like increasing alcohol restrictions, he didn’t agree. He also said the summary reflects police reports but not the description of events one riotous night during the spring celebration from students’ point of view. Student Abby LaCombe, says a lot of negative issues between students and Ames police weren’t addressed in the final report, and she doesn’t think it’ll cut the likelihood of future Veishea riots. Other members of the task force say not everyone agreed on every topic but the rest of the members approved of the final draft.
