A Cedar Falls man was arrested Christmas Eve for child endangerment after a 10-year-old boy was found running naked down a street. Fifty-two-year old Richard Louis Mohorne, Sr. was arrested for child endangerment resulting in bodily injury. He allegedly wrapped an extension cord around the boy’s legs and neck and then told the boy to kill himself. The unidentified boy ran from the house into freezing temperatures without clothes. Police were called around four o’clock when the boy was seen running along Veralta and Orchard Drives. According to police reports, the boy received injuries to his neck, right thigh and wrist from the extension cord and is related to Mohorne. Court documents state that Morhorne admitted striking the boy and placing the cord as a noose around his neck, telling him to kill himself. Mohorne posted a $100,000 bond Monday and was released from the Black Hawk County Jail.
