The UNI men’s track team is savoring their dominant performance at the Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships this past weekend. Northern Iowa blew past the competition as they finished with 152-points. Indiana State was a distant second, 61-and-a-half points behind the Panthers. UNI coach Chris Bucknam feels the Panthers are as good as any team in the country. He says they’re clearly in the upper echelon of teams nationally. It was the 6th straight Indoor title for UNI and their 8th in the last eleven years. He says when you look at the Big 12, Big 10, SEC and ACC, his team is clearly in the top ten.
