Iowa opens Big Ten Tournament play today (Thursday) in Chicago looking for a win against Purdue. Hawkeye Steve Alford says the Boilermakers will make a few changes for this game. He says they’ll play zone defense a little more in this game to try and make up for depleted numbers. This could be the last game for Purdue coach Gene Keady who is retiring at the end of the season. Alford says he Keady has had a great career and has “just been so good for college basketball.” He says someone who has been through 25 years of the pressure of the Big Ten and done what he’s done, you just congratulate him. Alford says Keady’s players will be playing hard to get him the win and his team will have to meet that challenge. Iowa enters the tournament at 19-10 overall record.
