A matter of hours after state legislators voted to tighten restrictions on cold medicines misused to make meth, four people were arrested Thursday in southwest Iowa’s Union County. Three Afton residents and a man from Tingley were taken into custody after a search of three Afton homes. Officers went to 35-year-old Dana Shea’s house and found a quarter-pound of marijuana. They also found 39-year-old Clifford Price. When police got a search warrant for Price’s residence, 44-year-olds Mitchell Gaiser and Howard Soberg were there with meth ingredients ether and anhydrous. Shea and Price have each been charged with drug possession, while Gaiser and Soberg were arrested for felony conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine and possession of its ingredients.
