Defending Clark Cup champion Waterloo skates at Des Moines tonight in USHL play. Tonight’s game is one of just five remaining in the regular season for the Black Hawks, who are tied with Chicago for second place in the Eastern Division. Chicago has played three more games than Waterloo, so if the Hawks can win at least two of their next five games, they’ll clinch second place in the East and receive home ice advantage for the upcoming playoffs. Black Hawks coach P.K. O’Handley likes the fact that his team is playing for something so important this late in the season.Last year Waterloo surged late in the season on the way to winning their first ever USHL championship. With the playoffs approaching, O’Handley feels his team is coming together again.Waterloo has beaten Des Moines in four of their five meetings this season including a 7-1 win in Waterloo last Sunday.
