Iowa baseball coach hopes tough schedule improves team

The Iowa baseball team is on the road tonight to play Nebraska and while the Hawkeyes are just 6-13 on the season second-year coach Jack Dahm says his team is vastly improved over a year ago. Tonight’s game is another in a string of non conference games against rated foes and Dahm says that’s part of his strategy to get the Iowa program turned around. He says he’s a firm believer that in order to get better, you have to play the best teams, so they’ve played Southwest Missouri, Wichita State and now Nebraska. Dahm says his fault may be playing too tough a schedule, but he says he wants his team to learn.Dahm says he has been happy with the improvement from last season to this. He says pitching wise, defensively and offensively they’re better. He says they still need to get over the hump and he says the 2-2 conference start gives them hope things are starting to turn around.The Hawks visit the Wolverines this weekend in Big Ten play.
