Drake football coach Rob Ash is looking for a temporary home for next season if it’s needed. Thirteen million dollars in renovations to Drake Stadium are schedule to begin after the state high school track meet is finished and the construction is likely to keep the Bulldogs from using the stadium next season. He says they’ve talked to Valley, Waukee and Southeast Polk high schools. He says West Des Moines Valley would be the preferred site as they have the all-purpose turf and best seating capacity. Ash says there’s a chance the stadium could be finished, they don’t know at this point. He says the weather and construction schedule are the things that’ll determine that. He says they want to be sure it’s done right and don’t want to rush it. Ash says they anticipated this situation and worked the schedule so this coming season has only a limited number of home games. He says they have a difficult schedule with only four games at home.Drake is coming off a 10-2 season which included a victory in the Pioneer League Championship game.
