ISU extension offers financial courses for women

The Iowa State University Extension Department is offering a series of courses in financial management that’re designed for women. Spokesperson Cindy Fletcher says 85-percent of women will be on their own financially at some time in their life.She says with the death of a spouse or a divorce, or simply because they’re on their own, women need more information on making financial decisions. Fletcher says while they’re targeting women, they aren’t excluding men from the courses. She says they hope to give people some basic information that’s not commercial, and then they can tailor the information with home study to their own needs. Fletcher says you can sign up by surfing to www.extension.iastate.edu and clicking on the link to the financial courses. Or she says you can call their office at 5-1-5-2-9-4-6-5-6-8 and get a registration form mailed to you that you can fill out and return by May first. The cost to register is 75 dollars, and that includes a workbook.
