The suspected wheel-man in a fatal eastern Iowa crash is finally behind bars. Authorities have found and arrested a Cedar Rapids man who was wanted for a police chase that ended in an accident that killed the man’s girlfriend. 34-year-old Murl Shank was taken into custody Tuesday on vehicular homicide charges by Iowa State Troopers after they got a tip on his where-abouts. Shank was allegedly driving a pickup that led a Linn County deputy on a high-speed chase April 9th. The pickup rolled over on a curve and killed 24-year-old Katrina Nelson. Shank contends he was not driving but authorities have evidence that he was behind the wheel. If convicted, he could be sentenced to ten years in prison.
