Coe College hosts an NCAA division-three softball regional beginning on Friday. The Kohawks enter the post-season with a record of 36-4 and rolled to the Iowa Conference title with a 15-1 mark. Coach Bob Timmons says he told his team there shouldn’t be any pressure now as the pressure was getting to this point. The winner of the regional advances to the division three national tournament and will earn it. Coe is sixth rated and also in the field is defending national champion St. Thomas of Minnesota and top ranked Washington of St. Louis. He says the winner will earn the tournament championship.Coe plays Wisconsin-Stout in the opening round and Timmons hopes a tough regular season schedule is a plus this weekend. Timmons says they’ve played a very tough conference schedule and many of the other top teams and he says that’s gotten them prepared for this tournament. With a victory in their opener the Kohawks would take on second seeded St. Thomas Friday afternoon.
