The Iowa baseball team is still in the hunt for the Big Ten Conference regular season championship. The Hawkeyes are 15-9 in conference play and alone in second place heading into this weekend’s four game series at Purdue. Iowa trails league leading Illinois by three games. Coach Jack Dahm says the Illini have two tough weekends ahead of them as they face Minnesota and then must face his team. Dahm says his team though has to win its games and not worry about Illinois. The Hawks are on the verge of locking up a spot in the conference post season tournament after taking three of four games from Minnesota last weekend. He says Minnesota has been one of the top teams in the league and to overtake them is important. He says the top six teams make the field and the top two get a bye in the first round. Iowa is 24-23 overall.
