Search crews are again scouring a northwest Iowa waterway for a missing boy. Hundreds of volunteers are searching for the child this morning. The Sioux County Sheriff Dan Altena says the boy is presumed to have fallen into Willow Creek about four P.M. Sunday near Alton while fishing with his father and other relatives from a cement bridge in a farm field. He says they turned around and were putting fish in a bucket and they turned back around and he was missing. Altena says the father jumped into the water to look for the boy. He says there are a couple of culverts that go under the bridge and he says the water was moving pretty fast. He says they shored up the creek to the north to stop the water flow and dug out around the bridge, but did not find anything. The boy’s identified as four-year-old Breighton Ackerman of rural Alton. He’s described as a white male, wearing blue jean shorts and a green tank top. Crews from several area towns joined in the search for about five hours last night. The search resumed at seven A.M. Residents along Willow Creek are being asked to keep an eye out for the boy.
