Man dies in schoolbus crash with pickup

A 66-year-old Whittemore man died after a school bus/pickup truck collision west of Algona yesterday. Authorities say John Jack Henry died after being airlifted to Mercy Medical Center North Iowa in Mason City. 16 of the 50 students onboard the bus were treated and released from Kossuth Regional Medical Center. The bus driver is identified as 72-year-old Harvey Steven of Algona. The pickup was reportedly stopped on a rural road at the time of the accident, which is under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
