Briar Cliff is in Lewiston, Idaho and will play Spalding of Kentucky Friday afternoon in the opening round of the NAIA World Series. The Chargers have won six of their last seven games as they enter their first appearance in the World Series and coach Boyd Pitkin is not going to change the game plan at this point. He says he’s going to throw his number one pitcher, then two and right on down the line.Spalding will be a tough first round opponent. The Pelicans are 52-21 and drew an at-large bid into the field and he says there are 10 quality teams and you have to come out and play your best baseball. Pitkin has spent the week trying to gather information but is more concerned about how his team plays. He says the one good thing is that a couple of his players know some of their pitchers.Briar Cliff is 38-20 on the season.
