A company that makes parts for Harley Davidson motorcycles and other manufacturers is opening up shop in New Hampton. Progress Casting Group, based in Plymouth, Minnesota, plans to build an aluminum casting plant in New Hampton’s south industrial park, creating 150 jobs within three years. The company is locating in Iowa based on several incentives including a 500-thousand dollar grant from the Community Economic Betterment account program and 200-thousand dollars from the Physical Infrastructure Assistance program. The city also put in one-million dollars worth of water and sewer extensions to the industrial park last year. Progress Casting plans to build a 6-million dollar, 85-thousand square foot building, to house four-million dollars in equipment.
