Department of Economic Development director Michael Blouin says he won’t take long to make up his mind about whether to run for governor. Blouin says he is talking with his wife about the pros and cons of jumping into the race for the 2006 Democratic gubernatorial nomination. “I’m one of those folks who (hasn’t) even put together an exploratory committee yet,” Blouin says. “I guess it’s safe to say Suzanne and I are in the process of exploring whether we ought to put an exploratory committee together.” Blouin says he wants to make a yes or no decision within the next two weeks. “I’m not one (who) likes indecision for very long and we won’t linger on it for a whole lot of time,” Blouin says. Blouin has been a teacher, a state legislator, a congressman and the head of business development groups in Cedar Rapids and Des Moines.
