Developers of the new casino in northern Iowa’s Palo Alto County are breaking ground today (Friday). Julie Clarkson is on the board of the Palo Alto Gaming Development Corporation which is building the Wild Rose Casino in Emmetsburg. She says there’s been some minor work on the grounds, but they’ve been spending most of their time meeting with community and county groups. Clarkson says they’re trying to keep everyone around Emmetsburg informed. She says they’re updating them on their progress, who the contractors are, answering questions and trying to get local people involved. Clarkson says there’s months of work ahead before they’re ready to open. She says they’re targeting July 1st of 2006 as the opening date. Officials with the casino say they’ll start hiring for some positions in December.
