The Iowa Cubs could set an attendance record on Friday night when Chicago Cubs pitcher Kerry Wood takes the mound for another rehab start against the Oklahoma Redhawks. The single game record for attendance is 13-thousand 660 set on July fourth of 1998. Iowa Cubs assistant general manager Jim Nahas says even without Wood pitching, they still have fireworks and it would be packed too. He says they could probably put 20,000 people in the stadium. Nahas says the only tickets they are selling are standing room only the night of the game if you want to stand in the walkways. Nahas says this is one example of how the popularity of the Chicago Cubs helps the I-Cubs. He says they have such a great relationship that the Cubs are confident in sending Wood to Iowa to get some work. He says the unfortunate situation for Chicago turns into a good situation for the Iowa Cubs.
