Des Moines police say they have little information on a deadly shooting at a nightclub early this morning. Police spokeswoman Lillie Miller-Sistrunk says officers were called to Club Cancun just before two A.M. She says the found four victims, one who had died — Anthony Harold Langford Junior who was shot in the chest and died at a Des Moines hospital. The other victims were Antonio Hoffman of Des Moines, who was shot in the neck; Armondo Garcia and Ernest Dimanche, both of Florida. Garcia and Dimanche were treated and released, and Hoffman remains hospitalized for observation. Miller-Sistrunk says it appears the shooter drove up and started shooting at the victims who were all in the parking lot of the club. She says witnesses describe the suspect as a black male driving a large dark, or black S-U-V. She says they’re still trying to sort out what may’ve prompted the shooting. She says, “We have no indication as to what actually caused it or what created the problem.” Miller-Sistrunk says they’ve been called to the Club Cancun before. She says,”This is actually a troubled spot, a troubled bar here in Des Moines. So we do have, you know, several calls to that bar, so that yeah we have responded there for different reasons.” Miller-Sistrunk says they don’t have any indication at this time that the shooting was gang related. She says the club appeared to be very busy at the time of the shooting.
