The top teams remained the same in the final class 1-A and 2-A Radio Iowa/Baseball Coaches Association High School baseball poll. The class 1-A district tournament starts Saturday and Lansing Kee goes into it holding onto the top ranking in the final poll. West Harrison and Martensdale-St. Marys stayed in the second and third spots, while Remsen St. Marys moved up from seventh to fourth and Lenox dropped downed to fifth from fourth last week. The rest of the top ten is Sentral of Fenton, Granville Spalding, Nora-Springs Rock Falls, New London and Wall Lake View Auburn. Wilton keeps the number rating target on its back as the Class 2-A teams begin tournament play Monday. Carroll Keumper retains the second spot, while Denver and North Fayette flip-flopped from last week in the third and fourth spots. Mason City Newman keeps the fifth spot and the rest of the top ten is Dyersville Beckman, Sioux Central, Center Point-Urbana, Cherokee and Tri-Center. In Class 3-A, Sioux city Heelan stays number one, Decorah moves up to number two, West Delaware is third, Marion fourth and Cedar Rapids Xavier. Rounding out the top ten, it’s Mount Pleasant, Storm Lake, Estherville/Lincoln Central, Anamosa and Western Dubuque. There’s a bit of a scramble in the class 4-A poll at the top. Number one West Des Moines Valley swept then number two Mason City to retain the top spot. Cedar Rapids Jefferson moves up to number two, Lewis Central stays at three, Ankeny moves up to number four and Mason City dropped to number five. The rest of the top five are Iowa City High, Des Moines Lincoln, Davenport Central, Bettendorf and Ottumwa.
