A four-year-old boy drowned this weekend in a lake south of Lewis in western Iowa’s Cass County. Zachariah Lensch was pronounced dead at an Omaha hospital. Zach, as he was known, is the son of Rehna and Brian Lensch of Atlantic. The family was swimming in an area known as the “rock cuts” near the Cold Springs State Park, south of Lewis, when at about 5:15 p.m. Friday, they lost sight of Zach and called 9-1-1. The boy was found by dive crews some 96 minutes later in about 25-feet of water in an area not far from where he disappeared. A helicopter whisked the boy to the hospita., but by then it was too late.
