An eastern Iowa woman has been sentenced to prison for trying to sneak methamphetamine through the mail. 44-year old Jo Dee Tracy of Maquoketa had pleaded guilty in January to possession of meth with the intent to distribute. In a plea agreement, Tracy admitted that she and her husband Rodney Tracy were involved in obtaining over three quarters of a pound of meth. In may of last year, a drug dog alerted postal authorities to a package sent from a fictitious address in California. Agents discovered a quantity of meth hidden in a hollowed out book inside the express mail package. Jo Dee Tracey was sentenced this week to 43 months in federal prison. Her husband is slated to be sentenced August 4th after pleading guilty to a charge of making property available for storing, distributing and using meth.
