The issue that sparked a war of words between Tom Cruise and Brooke Shields has found its way into an Iowa court case. A Des Moines woman is requesting a new trial after being convicted of murdering her newborn son. 44-year-old Heidi Anfinson claims she didn’t get a fair trial because her ex-lawyer didn’t use post-partum psychosis as a defense. In 1998, Anfinson claimed the two-week-old boy accidentally drowned in the bathtub and she panicked. Later, she led authorities to the capitol city area lake where Jacob Anfinson’s body was found, weighted down with 25 pounds of rocks. The mother’s first trial ended in mistrial and she was convicted of murder in 2000.
