More family feuding in the Evelyn Miller case

The families of a slain five-year-old north-central Iowa girl continue to publicly dispute statements made by other family members. Last week, Evelyn’s mother — Noel Miller — said her two children were placed with their grandmother after Evelyn was reported missing, then gave them up to sequestered foster care because Miller said the grandmother “could not handle them.” The children’s grandmother, Sandy Kuykendall of Floyd, says they were placed in foster care due to the erratic behavior of Miller and her live-in boyfriend Casey Frederiksen. Kuykendall says Miller had signed an agreement in which she and Frederiksen were allowed with the children with their grandparents’ consent, but Kuykendall says she placed the children in sequestered child care after a July 11th incident after Miller and Frederiksen disobeyed the agreement. The next day a judge placed the boys in her foster care, with Miller and Frederiksen later placing the children in foster care in an unknown location. Kuykendall is the second member of Frederiksen’s family to speak out critically of comments made by Frederiksen and Miller last week about the slow process of the investigation. Kuykendall’s daughter and Frederiksen’s sister Brandi Hoffman said over the weekend that law enforcement was doing a good job and was confident in how authorities are handling the case.
