A judge has ruled against a request by a former Iowa State Trooper accused of sexually abusing his seven-year-old nice over ten years ago. A district court judge has denied a motion filed on behalf of 39-year-old Karl Kluender of Huxley that sought medical, psychiatric and psychological records of the girl he allegedly abused. Kluender has pleaded “not guilty” to a charge of second-degree sexual abuse stemming from the alleged incident that occurred in 1993. Kluender was fired from the State Patrol in April after the charges were filed. Kluender remains free on bond as his trial has been postponed and not yet rescheduled.
