Nebraska coach Bill Callahan says the Huskers used their off-week to try and get better on offense. Despite a 3-0 start the Husker offense has struggled and Callahan says they’ll find out if they made any progress when they host 23rd ranked Iowa State on Saturday. He says they worked against the top defense last week to try and get the best-on-best so the had the best competition and matchups. He says you don’t know how you’ll do though until you get under the lights. Callahan says all they can do is focus in on what they need to do right. Callahan says they expect a tough matchup. He says Iowa State is a very good football team that showed a lot of character in coming back to win against Army. Callahan says he was impressed with Iowa State’s special teams play in their victory over Army. He says that’s an area where they’re well-coached and he says you can’t overlook that. Callahan says his team can’t lose the battle of special teams and field position.
