The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is looking into the alleged misconduct of a Waterloo police officer. Few details are being released, however, a statement issued by the Waterloo Police Department confirms that an officer is the focus of the investigation. The officer’s name isn’t being revealed, and no other information is being released by the department. Waterloo Police Captain Bruce Arends says the probe began recently after local authorities received a report of alleged criminal misconduct involving a Waterloo police officer. Due to the nature of the allegations, the Iowa D-C-I was called in to investigate the report. Arends says the D-C-I is conducting the investigation with the full cooperation of the Waterloo Police Department.
