A Cedar Rapids man faces numerous charges after leading police on a high speed chase in Cedar Rapids last night. It started just before 10 p.m. when Cedar Rapids police attempted to stop a car on I-380 that was going 100 miles-an-hour in a 70-miles-an-hour zone. Several patrol cars joined in the pursuit as did a police helicopter. The chase ended when the driver identified as 20-year-old Christopher Ganntt stopped at an apartment building and fled on foot. Ganntt left a woman and a small child in the car and was caught after a short foot chase. He is charged with several traffic violations as well as driving with a suspended license, interference with official acts, O-W-I, violation of a no-contact order, attempting to elude police and child endangerment.
