Iowa State will host Oklahoma State in their annual homecoming game and the situation at running back may not change. Stevie Hicks has not played since early in the game at Nebraska with an undisclosed leg injury and Jason Scales has not returned from a knee injury. McCarney says Scales may not play this year as they’re leaning more toward redshirting him this year to save him for 2006. McCarney says he is not sure when Hicks will return. Hicks did not practice last week and stayed in Ames for treatment instead of going to Missouri.

In their absence Greg Coleman has done most of the work with 67 carries the past three games. Coleman says regardless of who plays the Cyclones need a victory this week. He says they have to stay focused and not make mistakes.
At 3-3 the Cyclones need to win three of their last five games to become eligible for a bowl game.

Coleman says they have to look at it as one game at a time as they can’t afford to look ahead. Coleman says their is a sense of urgency this week to get the job done and get a win. Coleman has 318 yards of rushing to this point.
